SEIKO Prospex Alpinist Watch Glacier Blue SPB197 Europe 2020 Limited

The Seiko Alpinist SPB197JI, or "Glacier Blue Alpinist" is one of the rare ones and a grail model amongst the Seiko Alpinist line. The SPB197 was released only in European markets for the 2020 year, and was never available globally outside of the european market. Due to the short production run and limited international availability the glacier blue Alpinist has become one of the most coveted models amongst Seiko collectors. These do not come up for sale often any more. This watch sells on the Strapcode Miltat 5-Link Jubilee styled bracelet ($140 CAD value) and has screwed links, and a push button fold over, milled clasp. The watch wears extremely comfortable on the bracelet.
This watch was originally purchase as one of out photography models, but I enjoyed the watch so much that it went straight into my personal collection. I added one of the GMT Alpinists in the collection recently, so this one doesn't get as much wear as it used to. This is a unique chance to get a hold of one of the rarest alpinist models.
The SPB197 stays true to the standard Alpinist line, with the use of a highly durable stainless steel case, sapphire crystal and robust 6R35 movement. This watch traces it's roots back to outdoors enthusiasts in Japan that wanted a tough and durable watch that could be worn on weekend hikes, while still also looking formal enough to be worn at the office. The Alpinist absolutely aces the design language, looking sporty on a stainless steel bracelet, and almost dress watch-like on a leather strap. How many dress watches have 200m of water resistance.
Watch is used and has light scratches around the bezel and on polished sides of case (see photos). Watch has never been polished. The sapphire crystal and caseback crystal are immaculate. The watch bracelet has light scratches. The 6R35 movement is running within Seiko specified tolerances. Watch includes original box, tags, manual and warranty card.
