Pennsylvania state route 1 sign
Up for sale today is this Pennsylvania highway 1 sign. Made to the exact state standard used from 1926 to approximately 1929, when the route was no longer named PA 1. State Route 1 is what the Lincoln Highway in Pennsylvania became in 1924, and then was re-designated and split into US 1 and US 30 in 1926. The route covers the southern part of Pennsylvania all the way from Pittsburgh to Camden, New Jersey. Take this opportunity to show your love for Pennsylvania and own a piece of roadside history all in one!
An original of these is very rare to find; the original keystone shaped shield seen here has entirely disappeared from service. most were replaced by the 1980s; I think the last keystone - a route 130 - vanished sometime in the early 2010s. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, without breaking the bank. The sign is flat printed on steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 2 lb. 15 oz., and is 12 by 12 inches. If you would like a different size or route number, please do not hesitate to inquire.
This is a high quality, heavy steel, non-reflective sign — perfect for indoor or outdoor display. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality.
