1 MHz, 100, 50 & 25 KHz Switched Range Crystal Calibrator Marker Generator Description: A compact, fully built and tested Crystal Calibrator or Marker Generator with dual (AC & DC) power options This modern take on the classic marker, provides 4, switch selected outputs to give 1 MHz, 100 KHz, 50 KHz or 25 KHz marks. Based around a high accuracy (5 ppm) 1 MHz crystal oscillator whose out put is then divided to provide the 3 output frequencies as square waves. A variable output potentiometer allows the output square wave shape to be trimmed if needed. Comprising a small footprint PCB (2&1/10" x 3" approx. ) it can be built into a small box or tin for bench/portable use, or is small enough to be retro fitted into a vintage (tube) radio. The marker can be powered by applying 9 -20 V DC to the barrel jack (2.1 x 5.5 mm center positive) or if mounting in a tube based radio, the unit can also be powered by applying the heater AC voltage (6.3 - 7.5 V AC) to the blue (or green) screw terminal block. On board rectification and smoothing then feeds the  5 volt regulator. An RCA socket provides the output allowing connection to a radio.
