SLEEK MODERNIST 1970s TABLE / BEDSIDE ALARM CLOCK An iconic modernist example of mechanical clocks produced just before the battery powered quartz-regulated era. The sun-ray machined aluminum dial is distinguished by bold applied black dome star markers and a screened chapter ring with luminescent dots. Black baton hour and minute hands with luminous insets protrude above the slender aluminum alarm hand. Sweep seconds display is an unusual feature for alarm clocks. A single key winds both time and alarm trains. Hands and alarm are set from a knurled knob at right. A red button serves as alarm off switch. NOTE: I partially disassembled the movement for ultrasonic cleaning and rinsing followed by lubrication and hairspring adjustment. Hands, dial, acrylic crystal, case, metal rear cover, key and set knobs were hand cleaned. The clock was test run for a couple months and timekeeping adjusted. Meticulous restoration should provide reliable operation for years. Skilled labor cost for professional overhaul of comparable alarm clock movements averages $225. 4 1/4" high, 3 7/16" wide, 2.0" deep CONSCIENTIOUSLY PACKED AND SHIPPED WORLDWIDE
